Located near the town of Meppadi, Chembra peak is a beautiful location that allures many trekkers all around the year. Starting early on a preset monsoon morning allows people to experience a misty environment, where the sun starts showing up slowly.

As people start their trek, they begin through the tea plantations for a few kilometres and stop at forest office for acquiring permission and pass for further trekking. Forest office checks for plastic material and course pass for a camera.

Trekking without a guide is not allowed in this location and if people wish to carry out a trek, they should come between 7:00 am in the morning to 2:00 pm in the afternoon. The trek starts after 2 kilometres of a stretch, where a van from the office drops the trekkers.

After a few kilometres, people reach a watchtower from where the entire Wayanad is visible. Then people need to cross a wooden gate that leads to a narrow pathway, which is quite steep. For seeing the heart-shaped lake, people need to climb up Chembra hill, which is a delight to watch.

This is the highest peak in Wayanad, which is around 2000 meters and offers amazing views of the valley. While planning this trek, people should make sure that they pack food and carry water bottles with them.
